Access Committee

The purpose of the Access Committee is to oversee the Register4 access process and safeguard the interests of members. The Committee provides recommendations about which applications to access Register4 members should be approved. These recommendations are then put forward for approval to the Register4 Sub Committee for final approval. Membership of the Access Committee includes men and women with and without breast cancer, representation from the research community and an ethics expert.

All projects that come to Register4 have already had their research reviewed via an external ethics committee. Therefore the main role of the Access Committee is to assess the project’s appropriateness for communication to members based on its adherence to the Register4 Access Policy and Guiding Principles.
